The ancient city of Butrint is the biggest and the most important archaeological site in Albania, part of the UNESCO world heritage sites. A visit to Butrint is like walking through the pages of history, viewing Roman villas, beautiful and richly- coloured mosaics, early Christian basilicas, and city walls and gates, all featuring a variety of architectural styles from across the centuries. It’s peaceful, full of history, and beauty. Ksamil will be our next destination! You will feel like you are exploring some tropical paradise when being on its white sandy beaches with the view of the four islands in front of the beaches. Ksamil is the pearl of the Albanian Riviera and it surely is one of the best beach destinations in Europe. Lunch is server upon your return to Saranda. There will be a walking tour of Saranda, after which we stop at the Blue Eye Natural Spring – a truly magical place. The deep, dark middle and clear blue water surrounding the centre resembles a pupil and iris. It’s at least 50m deep, but the hight-pressure water has made has made it impossible to explore further. Here, you’ll have plenty of time to explore and swim in the pools before heading back to Gjirokaster – beware, the water is a cool 10 degree all year round.

The meeting with dhe guide at 09 am, at Bukowski Bar, Gjirokaster. Firstly, we will visit the natural wonder of Blue Eye Spring. You will not be able to keep your eyes off the mesmerizing the crystal clear blue water. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits, because you might want to take a dive in it. Learning about the legends and immersing yourselves in the magical beauty of the area. Looking at the centre of the tarn source, you will understand why it is named the “Blue Eye”. Then we will head to Saranda, the most beautiful seaside city in Albania. Stroll the pretty streets of the city, visit the charm of the Saranda Synagogue, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Traditions. After spending a couple of hours in Saranda, enjoy lunch at sea view restaurant. After lunch we drive through Butrint, the most important archaeological site in Albania, the first site that became part of the UNESCO list. The ruins combined with the stunning natural surroundings make it worth a visit. There we will examine the Trionch Palace, the Baptistery, the Basilica, the City Walls and Gates, the Acropolis and lots of other spots. After spending a couple of hours in Butrint, our last destination for this tour, Ksamil. Sitting right on the Ionian Sea, the crystal clear water has amazing sand and rock beaches. Whether you’re hoping to get some time on the beach, among Roman ruin. After visiting Ksamil return to Gjirokaster, at Bukowski Bar.
